10 New Skool Rappers That Should be Considered in the G. O. A. T. Emcees Conversation – Pt. 3
Almost every devout Hiphoppa has complained that there are no true G.O.A. T. emcees among today’s generation of rappers. This is because they make the type of songs that baffle us with the outcome of today’s social engineering, and we have a media that does not report the truth. There Continue Reading
10 New Skool Rappers That Should be Considered in the G. O. A. T. Emcees Conversation – Pt. 2
Before justifying my 2017 Greatest of all Time (G. O. A. T.) list of emcees, we will make three considerations. 1) The lack of women on this list; 2) my criteria for what is a G. O. A. T. emcee, and; 3) the current state of Hip Hop. In recent Continue Reading
10 New Skool Rappers That Should be Considered in the G. O. A. T. Emcees Conversation – Pt. 1
I believe Rick Ross would be among the G. O. A. T. emcees if he had not been a former corrections officer. Say what you want about “The Biggest Boss,” but one thing you cannot deny is he can rap. Rick Ross raps on a stratospheric level. From the quality Continue Reading
The Recording Academy Cannot Honor Drake as a Pop Artist
As an artist, one of the reasons why I support Drake is because his music is gratifying. I do not compare him to other artists to appreciate his brand fully. His new playlist, “More Life,” clearly indicates this fact. I can say firsthand that Drake’s music is enjoyed by many Continue Reading
Rather You Than Me
After ‘Rather You Than Me,” Rick Ross should probably be in the G. O. A. T. conversation. I say perhaps because I’m one of those Hip Hop bosses who thought no one could spit better than Rakim. Of course, I adore Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Flash, Slick Rick, L. L. Cool Continue Reading
SheTHER
I usually stay away from girl fights. This is because, after quarreling, women often reconcile. Women turn against guys who choose sides in their quarrels. Not to mention other females who also react negatively when they see a man involved in a girl fight. With SheTHER, Remy Ma destroyed Nicki Continue Reading
The Emcee
Being an emcee, I’ve found compiling a short list of my top emcees challenging. This is because making a genuine, unbiased list without leaving out a veteran is almost impossible. The emcee is a wordsmith. He or she is a lyrical genius, a poet who spits a rhymed message. Unlike Continue Reading
Similar to Kanye’s “Famous”
When it comes to music videos, at this point, I have my finger on the pulse of creativity. How Kanye West launched and promoted his “Life of Pablo” album is almost identical to how I did with my “Laboramus Exspectantes Vol. 1” album. And I must add that I dropped Continue Reading
Laboramus Exspectantes Vol. 1
Laboramus Exspectantes Vol. 1 is my third full-length studio album. I recorded it at Thunder Dome Sounds in Toronto, Canada, and Juno Award winner Eddie Bullen produced it. My concept for the album is about becoming a permanent resident of Canada. I wanted to state that I had been a Continue Reading
Top 5 Potential Goat Emcees
On the other hand Drake did not make that list either. I explain, that I do think he’s high up there but he has other talents like singing and acting that collectively propelled him to superstardom. In my last emcee blog, I talked about who I thought were the top Continue Reading
To Galvanize the Hip Hop Kulture in Canada
Allow me to take this time to salute the emcees who have joined me to write about our Kulture in Canada. Writing is not easy. I’ve written about Hiphop for years (since 2007), sometimes addressing the politically correct whistleblowers who slam Hiphop. The people with strong influence in the GTA are likelier to disregard Hiphop. I felt it necessary to express the Kulture as a rapper/emcee.
Matthew “Delee” John
Delee started his musical journey in Grenada. At ten, he was a mouth organ player in a scratch band with a box bass, a scratcher, and a milk pan player. He moved on to Harmony Brass as a drummer/vocalist from this rudimentary beginning. By 1979 Delee had co-written the 1979 Grenada Road March song, “Stand up Grenada.”
Top 10 Rap Heads in the Game Right Now Pt. 1
In my latest book, Hiphop KruZade… Path of a Legend, I devoted an entire chapter to Hiphop and Racism. Due to my experience as a master of ceremony, especially after I moved to Canada, I’ve realized that there are racists who hate Hip Hop due to the financial opportunities it Continue Reading
